Large valve assembly

Faced with an obsolete OEM valve, Atlantic Hardchrome was approached to apply our expertise in remanufacturing using historical data. With archived drawings and a physical sample as our guide, our team conducted a thorough analysis and 3D modelling to identify and rectify fitment issues not captured in the original OEM documentation but evident in the sample's modifications.

Key steps in our process included:

  • Detailed remanufacture analysis based on archived OEM drawings and physical sample valve assembly
  • Comprehensive 3D modelling to preemptively address fitment issues
  • Development of a custom manufacturing solution, shifting from casting to CNC machining from solid forgings, ensuring:
    • A controlled manufacturing process
    • A guaranteed 100% output rate with no batch rejections
    • Enhanced material strength
    • Streamlined NDT processes for improved quality assurance
    • A repeatable and scalable production process for future requirements

Upon OEM's approval of our proposed solution, all components were manufactured in-house, with NDT testing – including MPI, LPI, and UT – ensuring the highest quality standards. The final step involved assembling and pressure testing with a custom-created fixture, followed by meticulous custom crating for secure delivery. This project exemplifies Atlantic Hardchrome's capability to innovate and deliver complex manufacturing solutions efficiently.
